1. Purpose
This Privacy Policy explains how Jonathan Killough d/b/a Killough Works collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit https://killough.works, submit an inquiry, communicate with us, purchase services, or work with us on a project.
This policy is part of the Killough Works public practice document package and should be read with the Terms of Service, AI Disclosure, and Intellectual Property Policy.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- The Killough Works public website
- Contact, intake, and payment-related forms on the Site
- Email and project communications related to Killough Works services
- Payment-related metadata received from Stripe or comparable processors
- Client project materials shared for work we perform
This policy does not govern third-party websites, platforms, payment processors, booking tools, client systems, or services you use independently. Those providers maintain their own policies.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information you provide
When you contact Killough Works or request services, we may collect:

3.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, approximate visit time, referring URL, server logs, and error logs.
3.3 Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe or comparable third-party processors. Killough Works does not receive or store your full payment card number. We may receive limited metadata such as amount, currency, payment status, transaction ID, payer email, and timestamp.
4. How We Use Information
Killough Works uses personal information to:
- Respond to inquiries and intake submissions
- Provide Friction Check, First Fix, Mini Build, and other contracted services
- Communicate about scope, delivery, revisions, billing, and support
- Process and confirm payments
- Maintain internal records, invoices, and tax documentation
- Operate, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Site
- Protect against fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce agreements
We process information based on consent, contract necessity, legitimate business interests, legal obligations, or another applicable basis depending on context.
5. AI and Project Data
Killough Works may use AI tools as described in the AI Disclosure. We do not intentionally submit passwords, full payment card numbers, or sensitive personal data to AI tools.
When project context is useful for AI-assisted drafting, code review, documentation, or planning, we use reasonable efforts to limit unnecessary confidential detail and avoid sharing sensitive information unless the project requires it and appropriate safeguards are in place.
No cloud service is risk-free. Do not send highly sensitive information unless it is necessary for the work and we have agreed on handling expectations.
6. How We Share Information
Killough Works does not sell personal information.
We may share information with:

We may also transfer information if Killough Works is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, restructuring, or similar business event, with notice where required by law.
7. Cookies and Tracking
The Site currently uses technologies necessary to operate the Site and load public assets. Killough Works does not intentionally use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or advertising cookies on the Site at this time.
If analytics, session recording, advertising tools, or non-essential cookies are added later, this policy will be updated and consent controls will be provided where required.
You can control cookies through your browser. Blocking essential technologies may affect Site functionality.
8. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for business, operational, legal, tax, security, and dispute-resolution purposes.

Retention periods may vary when law, disputes, backups, platform limitations, or client instructions require a different handling period.
9. Security
Killough Works uses reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate for a small freelance technology practice. These may include access controls, provider-level security features, limited data collection, and secure platform workflows where available.
No internet transmission, SaaS platform, email account, or storage system can be guaranteed fully secure. You are responsible for your own account security, passwords, backups, and access permissions.
10. Your Choices
You may contact ionkilo42@gmail.com to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal information where applicable.
We may need to verify your identity and may retain certain information when needed for legal, tax, contract, security, fraud-prevention, backup, or dispute purposes.
You may opt out of non-essential marketing emails by contacting us. Transactional, project, billing, and legal notices may still be sent when necessary.
11. Children
The Site and services are not directed to children under 13. Killough Works does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
12. International Visitors
Killough Works is based in New Jersey, United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or in countries where our service providers operate.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Site, services, tools, providers, legal obligations, or business practices change. Updated versions are effective when posted unless a different effective date is stated.
